Day Trip - Weihenstephan

One of the trips we have not taken is to the Bavarian State Brewery, Weihnstephen. This is socialism at its best, folks. Since 1040 (no, not the tax form, the YEAR) they have been brewing beer. After 1,971 years, they may have a clue on what tastes good.

From Munich? Only 25 minutes by train. I have sent the proprietors an inquiry.. we shall see if they respond.

My only concern is that they are not very clear on their web site about having a beer hall. The tours state there is a minimum of 15 people and to make reservations. Nice web site though.

http://beertravelertv.com/?p=413. Interesting... Has anyone tried it?

They also seems to have a restaurant, and there are plenty of places in Freising anyway...

According to the bible, there is a 500 seat bier garden and restaurant. Larry gives it a 3 1/2.

Brewery tours are Mon - Wed, and cost 6 euro.

I stand humbled. The ecclesiastical texts have once again provide light where there was darkness.

In pennance i will reread the scripture to remind myself of piety, humbleness, and truth.

Forgive me.
