Award tickets

Delta allows booking of award, and other, tickets 331 days in advance of the day of the flight.

So:
Sep 18 (Tuesday) CVG -> AMS
Sep 21 (Friday) AMS -> MUC
Sep 25 (Tuesday) MUC -> CVG

Is not yet possible to book. But, it will be by October 29th.

Looks like 100,000 miles required.

Update: National Rental has a VW Passat (5 passenger wagon) available for pickup at the AMS airport, to be returned at the MUC airport, for 4 days for 159 Euro.

Herr Einfart,

Not to challenge your integrity, especially since I haven't looked at Delta, but how inthe H. E. Double Hockey Stick did you come up with 100,000 miles? I thought coach was 50,000. If it is 100,000, boy am I in trouble. Maybe you were including Delta from AMS to MUC?

Your itinerary does look good, though.

Well, Delta has two kinds of awards tickets. Some have no blackouts and are the only way to get certain flights. The CVG to AMS leg required the "pricey" award.

But, come to think of it, I couldn't use actual dates (since the real dates are too far away) so I used this December. Maybe that is to close and only the pricey are available. We'll have to wait to see if the 50K option exists.

That probably makes sense. I would certainly believe that all low mileage seats are gone.

The van rental looks interesting depending on the number of Oktoberfestians. We do need to verify with Herr Prenger the travel time for driving from AMS to MUC. It certainly is a better alternative $$ wise, and wehn you consider travel to and from airport, might even be just as good as flying.

BTW....

How did the first weekend get decided upon?

Democracy!

Zerr vill be no Democracy.

Typical left wing math, as of this moment, the polling is even at 3 - 3.

Are you counting the hanging paticiples?

I guess that clears things up...

Daqzzed and confused.

Sorry, you must be up on current events.

Some Republican prick used Teddy Kennedy's Chappaquidick adventure as an excuse for the Republican leadership not taking action against Foley.

Lame.

Especially now that the Republicans are acknowledgin they knew in 2000 about the perv.

At least Democrats wait until they turn 21 before molesting them. ;-)

OK guys let's start a seperate blog for politics; I thought the questions was how to get from AMsterdam to Munich.

Which is: by Train !

The speedtrain only takes 7hrs 30 min. By car it it will take 8 hrs at a minimum, excluding the traffic jams during rush hours at Colgne, Frankfurt and Munich.

Have a look at www.ns.nl

If the speedtrain is 7 hrs. 30 minutes, I'm game to just fly.

Henk, what does a one-way ticket AMS-MUC cost?
