Your average beer intake in Munich?

Just out of curiosity, about how many liters of beer do you guys typically drink during a wonderful day in Munich.. The reason I ask is because I tested my average bier consumption rate this past weekend and came out with just over 3 liters within a space of 5 hrs. I would also like to add that the next day I felt fine. It is possible for me to go overboard when on holiday so I see me at most taking in 4 or maybe 5 liters, with one or more being a Rattler…

Chugger usually does more, but the 3 liter mark sounds reasonable. If we go garden hopping, then maybe more.

I had 8 my very first time at oktoberfest.... Never again.

This is not a race, it is a journey. We are professionals, do not attempt this at home.

Consumption is difficult to judge since they just keep getting ordered and you just keep drinking. In our prime, as referenced by BarleyMan, we did average about 8-10 litres per person in the evenings (younger and more foolish).

Nowadays 4 or 5 litres in the evening seems reasonable. But don't forget the 3 or 4 during the Day Trips. Easy to have 2 at Kloster Andechs, another on the train, and maybe one before dinner.

The morning after is usually just that, the morning after. Maybe you are tired (depends on whether you went to Shakespeares), but no hangover or headache (Jameson's or Jagermeister excluded). Lower intestinal disorders may occur however, but hey, that's beer!

Prost!

What is this Shakespeares you speak of?

And 8 liter is GD impressive!!! Is a local hangover over the counter product that is worth getting in Munich... If a place was to have one it would be Oktoberfest...

Shakespeare's is a small all night bar 2 minutes or less from Hotel Alfa. Right on the corner of the same street. And when I say all night; they open around 10P and don't close until 6A or so.

If you click The Gallery (Bilder, and look at pics from the odd number years, you will most likely find pictures of the crew.

In terms of hangover products, nothing more then th eusual preventative (or after the fact) cures...

Tylenol, Ibruprofen, Pepto Bismol, Immodium AD.

Chugger forgot to mention his hangover cure of Sauerbraten and Kartoffelsalat in the morning.
