Update from the absent front

After missing a few months from the blog, I am going to try and keep up with the group and post once or twice a week.

We just got my son's school schedule and are making flight arrangements around his classes. Will post travel arrangements once solidified. It's getting exciting and we are really looking forward to the trip. Now that I caught up (a bit) with the blog

1) As of right now, we will not be wearing leiderhosen.
2) I do have a valid US drivers license, but I don't really plan on driving much. Is this a mistake?
3) Aram and I are looking at making a few side trips and will listen to the group on where to go and what to do.
4) Do we need to purchase any tickets to any events/tents? Previously I was told not to, but not sure if that changed?
5) We have actually listened to the songs a few times so we can at least fake like we know what we are doing...Alice, who the F&$^ is Alice?
6) We will live vicariously through the single guys and our sons...say no more.
7) I asked the Dr. to prescribe some Fukitol for the trip, but he had never heard of it. It's probably only a European medication and not approved by the FDA. Does it have a different name? There might be a generic equivalent named DAMITOL, but don't know if it will have the same effect.

Sorry I've been absent...I'll try to be a better blogger.

For being absent, you sure have caught up on the major themes very quickly. Congratulations on your return. Some quick comments for you...

1. Hope that doesn't mean you will be wearing nothing.
2. No need to drive, that's why god invented trains.
3. We posted our day drips awhile back, but probably worth doing again.
4. Go with the flow.
5. Most of us know who Alice is, but we still like to question others.
6. But of course.
7. Humm, this is one for BarleyMan. I don't know if Damitol is better or worse.

Cubaner... welcome back!

I will try to post some detailed updates, but here's a link to a summary page of day trips we have taken in the past...

Highly recommend the Berchegarten Salt Mine tours if you are bringing your sons...

Thanks. Life got in the way of planning fun. I think we are getting in the reality zone that this is sneaking up on us.

As for what I am wearing, I was thinking about a tube sock ala Red Hot Chili Peppers style...not sure if it would really fit in though. Leiderhosen is not out of the question, it's just one of those things that would have to be planned.

The salt mine looks great for a day trip for us. I am going to start setting out travel stuff (i.e. trains, busses, etc) but I would like to coordinate with the group for the actual Oktoberfest tents and our time in Munich.

More to come...

We will certainly start our banter about daily activities now that construction has begun. Our initial planning was somewhat documented here --> http://oktoberfestvisits.blogspot.com/2011/05/general-plans.html

As always, plans are just that, plans. However, the one thing that is carved into stone is Friday at the Hofbrauhaus.
