Field Report #2

Samplings have been many and varied. Introduced some traveling companions to Belgium Lambic. Silliness was rampant. We then moved on to a Peach Beer. Sounds shitty, but tastes great (less filling). Today's highlight was touring the Heineken Brewery. Actually, the tour wasn't the highlight. The tasting at the end was the highlight. Three pints in less than 20 minutes.

By the way.... the honey beer I mentioned in the last report is called Dorelei. Hummm Humm Good.

Well, off to more research work tonight, then Heidelberg in the morning.

Looking forward to seeing Barbus on Friday.

Chugger signing off for now. So little time, so much research.

My report!
On my trip last weeken in Lisbon -Portugal I had a great experience.
A beerhall in Lisbon (since Y1836) http://www.cervejariatrindade.pt/
The cavernous Cervejaria da Trindade is a former convent building with gorgeous 19th-century azulejos and a robust, busy atmosphere. This cervejaria has been serving food for over 150 years. The beef and seafood grilled dishes are especially famous.

Portuguese gym-goers are being urged to drink beer as part of a healthy diet in a campaign launched last month by the nation's main association of producers of the alcoholic beverage. A total of 20.000 fliers outlining the health benefits of drinking up to two bottles of beer per day will be handed out to patrons arriving at gyms in Lisbon and Oporto, the nation's second-largest city, according to the Portuguese Association of Beer Producers. The goal is to "draw attention to some less well-known aspects of beer, such as its agricultural origins, its nutritional value and health benefits when drunk in moderation and responsibly", it said in a statement. The fliers, which feature a smiling young woman jumping rope beside an image of a large glass of beer, point out that a 200 millitre glass of beer has less calories than a quarter litre cup of sugarless orange juice or a similar sized cup of milk.
It adds that beer is a good source of magnesium and fibre and helps prevent diabetes, dementia, cholesterol and osteoporosis.

Beer in Portugal is stronger than the average other beer. You really should try Sagres beer and SuperBock. http://www.portcult.com/Portugal.08.DRINKING.htm

Don't how reliable the Chugger trip is. Last Friday night he was seen in an Appelwine Hall called Adolf Wagner in Frankfurt. http://www.apfelwein-wagner.com

They do not serve one single drip of Beer. So what is Chugger doing?!
