Since Barleyman has informed me that we were unable to get reservations in any of the tents, what days are planning to attend the actual Oktoberfest festivities? I see Thursday on the brochure, which sounds like a good idea since it's not the weekend. Are we going to try a weekend evening? I'm sure it will be incredibly crowded. What is actual last day of Oktoberfest?

There's that word again... plan. While it may appear this excursion has an air of "over planning", most of the planning is pure conjecture or wishful thinking; except of course for the chartered bus and boat trip to Weltenburg.
The expectation of this Oktoberfestian is certainly an inaugural trip to the Wiesn as soon as possible on Thursday after arrival. There also needs to be at least one additonal evening trip as the remaining Oktoberfestians arrive. With a group this size, logistics will ne an issue, especially since getting a table is more of an art than a science. It will mean divide and conquer. So, I guess the trek to the Wiesn occurs whenever someone wants to go.
With that said, the actual last day of the fest is Monday the 3rd. This Oktoberfestian plans to be there early that day for lunch, brew, frivolity, and a final farewell. The afternoon can then be spent reminiscing, recovering, or visiting a new venue.
