The Last Dirndl Post (Hopefully ! !)
Since Paulaner Girl was considering a Dirndl, but claims "many of these are in the $300 price range....seems a little much to pay for an outfit to drink in", should we start a Hurricane Katrina Dirndl fund to help off-set the cost of rebuilding Paulaner Girl's drinking wardrobe?

I think Paulaner Girl is going to buy one on Thursday or Friday "in country".
You can bring cash (Euro's please).
I think I will wait until I get to Munich to buy my dirndl. I have been shopping on ebay mostly, and the sizes are too hard to figure out, besides, I want to have a choice. I hope all the wives buy one, so I don't feel so stupid. So how is my fund going?

Eliska tells me I should mention the place where she bought a dirndl at a very reasonable price (around 70 Euros, including apron, blouse and dirndl) at a place on Tal Str. just past Weisses Bräuhaus (around the corner from the Hofbräuhaus) and on the same side of the street. She can't remember the name, but I still remember the 2½ hour wait while she shopped 'til I dropped. I was literally trapped at the Weisses Bräuhaus and forced to drink one beer after another until she returned. Maybe the guys would be willing to make a similar sacrifice while you land your native garb? Check out the map in the BDG2M for the Weisses Bräuhaus and you will be pretty close. As you exit the front of Weisses Bräuhaus, turn left, walk down past a couple of shops and a cross street and there it is on the same side of the street. You can't miss it and there are several dirndls in the display window. She discovered this was the place where most of the waitresses at HB buy their dirndls, so you know it has to be reasonable. Eliska says there were a number of tourists there as well and plenty of help that spoke English. Cheers.

Larry, it is refreshing to see your dedictation to the shopping experience of women in Munich. Without sacrifices like this, we would be stereotyped as bier guzzling thugs.
I hope we are worthy of your example.
See Chugger, this was our plan all along. The ladies can go shopping while we drink beer.
This will allow me to express my new found love for wheat!
Please modify the Thursday/Friday schedule accordingly.
Gee, I feel honored...a post by Larry. Can't wait. Do they serve beer in the dirndl store (I'm used to shopping for jewelry in the Caribean)
