Or will it be a side trip with Munich visit just a nod to days gone by?
Paulaner Girl will be in Dordogne France sipping wine and eating truffles for a month, so she'll be ready for some golden nectar.

There will be a trip! Flying Dan and I will begin discussion when we visit next week. What are the France Dates?
Initial thoughts are a visit during the week to mitigate the crowds a bit. Probably just a traditional visit with a day trip or two. I prefer the first week since I will be returning to Europe the second week of October. That will actually be our third trip of the year. (long story).
She will work her trip around our schedule. No solid plans yet.
The only thing I have is a class reunion to contemplate attending. Most of those people I have no desire to see again, but there might be a few!
What are we celebrating or theme this year? The 3X (X=arbitrary number) year reunion going to Oktoberfest, Joyce's retirement, Dave free to search for the lockbox key and mini Trump flags while Joyce is away, Allison's 7 year anniversary of getting lost, farting in the hotel Alpha and blaming Bob's stinky cheese. A lot of options.
What are we celebrating? You identified several good options. This is the 33 year anniversary,50 years of marriage, 2nd of three European trips for us this year.
The list is endless.
