Join us as we plan and document our travels to the land of pork products and the golden nectar; Oktoberfest. Enjoy as we experience a World Class Event full of fun, frivolity and Gemütlichkeit.
Here's the countdown to the start of Oktoberfest 2025...
But when you plan the trip on Sunday don't forget Sundays in Nurnberg are pretty quiet. Shops and markets are closed. Museum (Document Centre - Hitler) and Churches will be open. And of course the Brauhauser. But all much of the same compared to Munich.
Just discussion right now... I think this trip will only handle 1 trip out of Munich, plus Sunday Services at the Kloster. Wonder what we can do in Munich one day... something new.
I agree with Barley Man, one real day trip is usually sufficient. We still have the earlier kloster recommendation though, although maybe not a full day trip.

Andechs on Sunday is an ecuminical requirement.
How about Sunday:
30.09.2018
11 a.m.
Traditional concert of the Oktoberfest brass-bands at the feet of the Bavaria

The band concert really sounds interesting. But being on Sunday, does that interfere with our pilgrimage to Andechs?
Also, based upon Barbus' warning about Sunday in Nurnburg, if we go, should we go on Friday?
Lets put it on the list. Definitely a museums and churches trip. But fairly efficient for trains.
Were we planning on the Kochel trip to be part of the pilgrimage?
Kochel is still in play since it is so close. Maybe others should chime in.
How about;
Fridaymorning - Kochel
Friday (late) afternoon - Wiessen, Augustinerkeller .....
Saturdaymorning - free choice
Saturdayafternoon - Hacker Pschorr, Wiessen and more
Sundaymorning - Brassband Bavaria Statue
Sundayafternoon - Paulaner Garten .......
Nurnberg sounds interesting. Might be cool to do an organized walking tour of the city
Did anyone else notice that the brewery in the rock cut cellars specifically says under 6 year olds are free but don't get tastings? Only in Germany
What? You expect a double hippie to walk around?
If you can't walk, how will you make it up the hill at Andechs?

Are you renting a scooter? My mom has a snazzy fold up one
No dear. I am normal. Or as normal as I can be.
Uh ...... @Chugger do you say that Joyce's mother is not normal ???
Oh shes not normal for sure. But if you can climb that hill you can go on a walking tour!
