I suggest a strict training regimen. A healthy mix of Bier, and Pork products in ever increasing doses until leaving for the trip. An occasional Pretzel, or Sauerkraut as a tracing round.
The time to start is NOW...

It sounds like a good plan. However, you need to promise to abstain from the Donner. It would gove you an unfair advantage.
