Visits to Oktoberfest - A World Class Event

Welcome to the first Blog dedicated to visiting Munich and the annual Oktoberfest ritual. Many of us have been visiting this “celebration of all celebrations”, as a group since 1993. We hope to share our experiences, provide tips for visiting, and give you our views on the typical “what to do” and “what not to do”. But primarily we want to have some good discussions with those of you who love beer, and may or may not have ever visited this fine event. Give us your thoughts.

Be sure to visit these great resources...Cheers!

It's Time for Some Humor ! !

... and since the posting of the Men's Rules caused such a stir, let's get things a little more irreverent. Post a picture of the strangest, funniest, most ridiculous item you have. I'll go first, and since I don't know if you can actually post a picture in the comments, just post the link to your picture.

Here's mine, and click it to make it bigger...

Japan Trip Report

Finally got the photos in shape from my Trip.

Country: Japan,

Beer: Made mostly from rice. OK with sushi, but I would not drink stand alone.
Gemütlichkeit: Excellent. They try hard to promote a beer lifestyle
Selection: Moderate. Better than Miami, but not like California.
Unusual beer experience: Special at Airport, Beer & Soybeans (Edamame)

Photo Evidence:

Drink special: Beer & Soy Beans 830 Yen...

Plenty of Beer experiences to be had (in English!):

Of course I had to drink wine:

And finally, you had to fight off Godzilla on your way to the Beer Dens:

The Lurking Few...

As time passes, and the event gets closer, tasteful discourse ensues. But, what about the "lurkers"? Those registered participants who do not routinely contribute.

I mean... Designated Walker? jane? And now Schlumberger Lady?

I'm Done ! ! ! ! ! !

While I do not have actual "sheepskin in hand", I am officially finished with my MBA ! ! ! ! !

Classes are done, final research papers submitted, party time and beer drinking completed... only actual graduation on August 6th to complete. I now feel almost as smart as BarleyMan.
